As I was trying to think of a name for this blog where I would share things I am proud of, I thought of phrases that were special or unique to me. When I was only three or four, my mom made a lot of my clothes. One day she brought me into the sewing room to share the latest outfit and I clapped my hands together and said "Oh, splendid!" Of course, no three or four-year-olds use words like "splendid" without learning them from some old movie or something. I happened to watch old movies and learned the line from "The Slipper and the Rose", a Cinderella story. When the stepmother is looking at herself in the mirror, she is happy with what she sees, and says, "Utterly splendid." After I am finished with a photo edit or scrapbook layout, that's how I feel. I look at my work and feel like my three-year-old self again--giddy and smiling and oh so happy with what I see (at least, most of the time).
